I was sitting in a therapy session, and my client says emotionally, "Why am I like that? Why do I do those things?" I say with as much empathy as possible, "Well, part of it is because you are human." She says, "Human Hurts."
How right she was. Sometimes just being human hurts.

Bad things happen in 3's right?
I decided it was time for me to start posting again....I know. It's been a long time. I tried to download video after my experience at the New Kids on the Block concert, and when it didn't work, I got depressed. Now I am over it,
The motto of this month is "Hopefully bad things only come in 3's."
1. Jan. 13th (yes the day after my birthday) I got what we thought to be a kidney stone(I named him Charlie). Went to the Dr. and sure enough that's what it was. "Here's your loratab, drink lots of water, and strain your urine. Good luck." 4 days later, kidney stone #2 (fondly known as Tony) came to visit on the other side.
Two weeks later...still no kidney stone. Loratab almost gone. My boss thinks I don't exist anymore. And I think I am dying. I return to the doctor, get a CTscan, and Oh! No Kidney Stones. Bad news? Doctor has no idea what is wrong with me. Bad news? I have a kidney stone in each kideny yet to have come out (thus, they are not affecting me at all right now, but someday they will give me hell!) So we try antibiotics, ibprofen, more loratab, and hope that helps. If not go back again in two weeks and see what the doctor says this time.
2. Amidst all the kidney stone fun, January 25th, I casually walk down stairs to my bedroom and all of the sudden my sock is SOAKED! Yah. Basement flooded because stupid city people don't clean out the drain in our gutter, it gets backed up, creates a river across our lawn, and a waterfall in the downstairs window. We get some wet vacs. Clean as much as we can. Bring in the emergency clean up guys. Tell the city we will sue if they don't pay. And I move upstairs temporarily...small problem, could get to all my clothes and shoes minus my socks! (Good thing I had a nice roommate who was willing to share socks for a week.)
3. Tuesday, Jan. 27th my roommate develops what we think is hives. She is on an antibiotic for sinus infection so Doctor says, probably allergic reaction. Stop taking medications, if it gets worse come in. Next day? Rash is worse. Next day? Worse. Me, being the funny, uplifting friend I am says, "Ha! Maybe you have the chicken pox." We google it. I compare her red dots to pictures, we check off all the other symptoms, and sure enough, we diagnos chicken pox. She calls the doctor. The doctor says, 'Yep! Sounds like chicken pox. Come in on Monday and we'll make sure.' Oh boy! Oh boy! She gets quarantined to the house. If she has chicken pox does that mean I could pass them on? No one knows. So I remain in the house.....still having kidney problems.
So. Bad things come in 3's and we are done, right?
